LEWCO Finishing Line for Extruded Aluminum Beams
The engineering team at LEWCO recently worked with a customer to design a process line for modifying extruded aluminum beams. They already had a multi-strand walking beam to buffer and feed parts onto the line, so to minimize drives a notched conveyor design was developed to fit around the existing equipment.
A special center section was designed for the robot work area, to support the product but allow the robot full access.
The discharge conveyor again used the notched conveyor design, to allow convenient removal of the long parts.
Due to the presence of cutting fluids and aluminum chips, LEWCO selected Chain Driven Live Roller for a robust, positive drive of the rollers.
