This customer builds high-temp furnaces for end use customers. They required an application that could effectively rotate heat-treated pallets to discourage distortion. LEWCO engineers worked with the customer to better understand their specific needs and design an application that was both innovative and cost effective.
How It Works:
Parts are carried on a metal “grid” pallet for heat treatment. After heat-treatment, pallets exit the furnace through a cooling tunnel onto a LEWCO turntable and are rotated 90°. They then move to a scissor lift that lowers them to elevation for unload, then feeds them into a rotator, which flips them over. In this way, the pallets are upside-down and rotated 90°each time they go through the furnace. Once the pallets are flipped,they are reloaded with new parts, then they go back into the furnace for another cycle.
- Flat bottom alloy tray, 30″ long x 30″ wide x 2″ thick
- 600 lb. maximum load, including tray and product
- Design for 150°F product
- Rate: one (1) unit every six (6) minutes
- Scissor lifts feature trapped, re-greasable cam followers
- Standard equipment designs modified to meet customer needs, including high temperature bearings where required
